Cordless Tool Finder
Seven questions — what kind of tool, how much of it you want to hold, what you can spend, which battery platform you are on, whether it needs a cord, whether the motor must be brushless, and whether you want a particular brand — across 433 cordless tools. Every result is placed against the median weight for its own category and size class, where that class holds enough tools to have a median worth quoting.
The finder searches the whole corpus. It does not rank tools, it does not promote what pays best, and it does not hide a tool because its listing is incomplete: a drill whose maker never published a torque figure still appears, marked not stated, because a badly written listing is not a worse tool.

How to read the results
The figure beside each tool is its weight, and beneath it, where one exists, the median weight for its own category and size class. A saw at 5.5 kg against a class median of 3.7 kg is genuinely heavy for what it is; one at 3.3 kg is ordinary. The comparison is always within a class, because comparing a laser measure against a lawn mower tells you nothing.
Where a class holds fewer than eight tools, no median is shown. That is a deliberate floor, not a missing feature: quartiles computed from five products describe those five products and not the class they sit in. Eleven of the twenty class cells in this corpus clear it.
Why incompletely described tools still appear
Specification coverage here is uneven, and unevenly distributed. Weight is stated by 340 of the 433 tools; a battery platform voltage by 302; a torque figure by 65. A filter that dropped everything it could not confirm would discard most of the catalogue the moment you touched the platform question — and the tools it discarded would not be worse, only less completely described.
So a filter excludes a tool only when its listing positively contradicts what you asked for. A tool silent on power source still appears when you ask for cordless, marked not stated, and you can decide what to do about that. The alternative is a tool that quietly hides most of the market while looking decisive.
What the finder cannot tell you
It cannot tell you which tool is better built, because that is an outcome rather than a specification, and measuring it would need testing this site does not do. It cannot compare energy capacity across platforms, because amp-hours are not comparable between voltage classes and the watt-hour figure that would be is not published cleanly enough to compute — see battery platforms for what that costs you. And it cannot tell you whether a torque rating was measured the way a competitor measured theirs, which is why how to read a torque rating exists.
